Library Rules & Regulations
Food & Drink Policy
Smoking, eating and drinking are not permitted in the library. They encourage infestation of pest and ants and may be offensive to other library users. Toffees, biscuits, fruits, candies etc. are all forbidden.
Book Inspection
On leaving the library, readers must show all books in their possession to the Assistant at the Counter.
Book Preservation
Books must not be defaced by writing in them or by any other means. Borrowers are responsible for books for which they have signed. Any loss or damage must be made good by the borrower.
Proper Issuance
It is an offence to take a book which has not been properly issued to you out of the library.
Disciplinary Action
Disciplinary action, including expulsion will be taken against anyone found to have mutilated or stolen library material, including journal or books.
Silence Policy
Silence is to be observed at all times within certain section of the library.
Weapons Policy
Firearms and other offensive weapons are not allowed into the library.
No Pets Policy
Pets are not allowed in any part of the library.
Electronic Devices
The use of mobile phones in the reading area of the library are prohibited. This also includes small radios and sound systems.
Personal Belongings
Bags, gowns, raincoats, umbrellas and other items must be deposited with the Assistant at the front desk and a tag collected. It must be noted that such items are deposited at owner's own risk.
Seating Policy
No seat shall be reserved by or for any reader. Any seat that is vacant for 15 minutes would be allocated to the next user.
Library Registration
Access & Borrowing Privileges
Faculty, Students and Staff of the University have access to all resources of the library, however they are required to register with the library to enable them borrow library materials. This is done under the terms and conditions within the rules and regulations of the registration by submitting admission letter and 3 passport pictures (Student's only).

Registration Benefits
Once registered, users gain full borrowing privileges, access to electronic resources, and the ability to reserve study spaces and materials. Registration is valid for the duration of your association with the university.

All registered users are expected to comply with library rules and regulations. Violations may result in suspension of library privileges.
